Make it your pet's last litter!
How does the Last Litter Program work?
Through the Last Litter Program, our experienced carers take on your pregnant dog or cat. We help the Mum to raise her babies until they are weened. We then desex Mum for FREE and return her to you. HAR will get the babies vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, spay/neutered, and microchipped. Our wonderful volunteer foster carer team will care for them at home until we find each of them a perfect forever family, all at no cost to you.
Contact us as soon as possible to see if we can help you. Even if your animal is early in its pregnancy, we can start to organise carers as this can take some time. Our application form is ready for you below – please provide as much information as possible about your pet so we can assess if they’re suitable for the Last Litter program.
Our last litter program prioritises pregnant dogs and cats only. The goal of this program is to intervene and ensure a safe and healthy gestation period followed by a successful birth. If the litter has already arrived and weaned, this falls outside the primary goal of the program and we are unlikely to be able to help you.
We can’t help everyone with our limited resources but we do our best. Please be polite and respectful to our volunteer team handling your application.
