All About Me and My Unique Personality: When he came into care Mr Fox was very frightened and timid. His hair was dull and tangled and he smelt awful. He hid in his cat cave for almost a week coming out only to eat before scurrying back to hide. He would accept pats and seemed friendly, he never showed aggression but was just lacking in confidence with the changes and the move. Even someone walking normally past him would send him fleeing.
After a week he decamped from the hidey hole cat cave to under his Carers bed. He accepted being groomed with a brush and being wiped down with pet wipes. Eventually we got him fully bathed with cat shampoo and combined with a decent diet his fur shone and he looked and smelled so good! Those beautiful golden eyes and his lovely fluffy neck ruff are just stunning.
It was around this time a small miracle occured and he decided we were actually ok and not going to hurt him. He crept up onto his carers bed in the night and accepted some cuddles! His purring was so loud and happy and he really settled in. Each day since then he has been gaining confidence and showing more of his lovely nature. He now sleeps curled up beside his Carers arm or draped over her every night and is the sweetest and most loyal boy - he does not care for anyone else in the house but very much shows his affection to Carer. His love language is sleeping next to you - he does not sit on laps or feel the need to be picked up but is a sweet teddy bear at night!
My Ideal Home: ** Should be an only pet
** Should be allowed to sleep on your bed overnight - this is how he shows affection and will bond with his new owner
** Should be with stomeone who has patience and will accept his progress
Must be rehomed as an indoor cat
What is Known About My Background: Came in from the Central Coast
Has been recently desxed ie was a tom cat for 3 years!
Perfectly litter trained.
Does not play with cat toys much - just decompressing at the moment. But has moments of zoomies so this play behaviour may come back once he feels completely safe.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: Unfortunately he also does not get along with Carers own pets and has not made much progress in this area at all, so it would be best if he was an only pet. He has lashed out and chased Carers senior male cat and we keep them separated when we are not around just in case.
Currently lives with a small dog. Often looks like he is about to chase or attack the dog but has restrained himself so far - seems like he might have been a tough street cat (with a heart of gold!)
