All About Me and My Unique Personality: Hello! My name is Lentil. I’m a sweet smoochy boy who is ready to find his furever family. My favourite activities are playing with my siblings and toys (something hanging off a stick, can’t get better than that!). I’ve also been getting into exploring the house recently and learning new skills like jumping and climbing, all the important kitten skills!
When I first came into foster care I was a called a “spicy” kitten, I found people really scary and hissed at them for a while. But once I realised that people were safe, I started opening up, I no longer hiss at people and I actively seek out my foster mum for love. I’m a big leg smoocher and will weave in and out of your feet, it’s my favourite way to show love, despite the trip hazard. I’m still not a fan of being picked up, it’s a bit scary if it’s out of the blue, so if you sneak pick me up, I might try escape your arms. But if it’s during pats or receiving treats, I’ll tolerate it for a short time. I do prefer affection on my terms, not the persons.
My Ideal Home: An indoor only home is an essential for me. I need a family who will give me the time I may need to feel safe in their presence.
What is Known About My Background: We don’t know anything about my history, I was dropped to the pound with my mum and siblings when we were only a week or two old.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: I’ve met older kids (8+) and while weary to start, I was ok with them patting me during our first meeting. I haven’t met little kids but I think they’d scare me as they can be a bit grabby.
I love my kitten siblings, but haven’t met any older cat friendly cats, so I don’t know how I’ll react, but I’m a curious kitten, so with the right introduction, my foster mum thinks I’ll be ok with them.
I live with two very patient and quiet dogs, it’s a been a month and I now am happy to share the couch with them, and walk near them, I don’t run away anymore when they walk past me and I’m getting closer to them every day. Dogs aren’t my favourite, but as long as the dog is calm and not very interested in me, I’ll be happy to live along side them, it’ll just take a bit of trust building to start.
