All About Me and My Unique Personality: I'm Gemma, a gentle, devoted mumma cat with a heart full of love. I came into foster care with two tiny kittens who were just two weeks old, and from the moment I arrived I have poured everything into raising them. I groom them, snuggle them in our cosy cat bed, boss them around when they need it, and talk to them constantly in my own little language of meows and chirps. Watching me with my babies will absolutely melt your heart.
But I have plenty of love to give beyond my kittens too! I am the kind of cat who will become your faithful shadow, following you from room to room, greeting you every time you walk through the door, and sitting loyally beside you while you work. I love to chat with a little meow here and there, and I will make whoever I'm with feel like the most important person in the room. I love curling up on the bed at night (I am an excellent winter warmer!) and I am always up for a cosy snuggle on a soft blanket.
I have a wonderfully calm presence - though I do get the occasional case of the zoomies just to keep things interesting! I am comfortable being picked up and handled, reliable with my litter box, and I warm up to new people with ease. I am a tiny cat with a surprisingly big appetite (raising babies is hungry work) and an even bigger heart.
My Ideal Home: I would thrive as the sole cat in a loving home where I can be the centre of attention. A calm, settled indoor environment where I have my people around me is my idea of perfection. I love a cosy blanket, a warm bed, and a human who appreciates a devoted, gentle companion.
Ideally I would love to be adopted with one or both of my kittens, who I adore with my whole heart - we would come as a ready-made little family and would bring double (or triple!) the joy. If that's not possible, I would do best as an only cat so I can truly settle and feel secure without the stress of sharing my space with other felines.
I am perfectly suited to a relaxed household, whether that's a single person who wants a loyal companion, a work-from-home human who'd love some company during the day, or a family who will give me the gentle, loving home I deserve.
What is Known About My Background: Gemma's story before she came into foster care is unknown. She arrived as a stray with her two tiny kittens, who were just two weeks old. What we do know is that despite whatever her journey looked like before, she is a trusting, affectionate, and deeply loving cat who has shown no signs of fear or trauma. She settled into foster care with warmth and grace, and has been an absolutely devoted mother every single day since.
Her gentle nature and easy trust of people suggests she has known kindness before and she is ready and waiting to find the forever home where she will be cherished in return.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: Children: Gemma is wonderful with children. She has lived with a two year old and a five year old throughout her time in foster care - including being carried around and loved on in the way only little kids can - and she has handled it all with complete patience and gentleness. She is a safe, calm, and trustworthy companion around kids of all ages.
Dogs: Gemma appears to be more relaxed around dogs than most cats! She has shared a home with Labradors and rather than retreating, she calmly watches them outside through the glass and screen doors with quiet curiosity and no signs of fear or stress. While she hasn't interacted with them directly, she shows a natural confidence around them that suggests she could potentially settle well into a dog-friendly household.
Cats and other pets: Gemma is a devoted and protective mother, which means she can find the company of other cats a little stressful, particularly when she feels her kittens need to be looked after. For this reason, she would do best in a home without other resident cats, or adopted together with her own kittens, with whom she is completely relaxed, loving and at ease.
