All About Me and My Unique Personality: Azalea is a shy kitten that has needed patience and consistency. She has need a calm environment that is allowing her to build trust. She likes to have multiple hiding spots. She likes caves, tunnels and burrowing under things.
She has liked when we get down on her level, speaking in soft low tones and encouraging her.
She is confident and energetic with her siblings, plays with toys and scales the cat tower with ease. We have used toys to bridge the distances to engage in play which is helping building her confidence and trust and positive associations with her foster carers.
We have used food and food placement to entice her to be out in the open and involved in things.
Azalea watches and observes her siblings.
My Ideal Home: A safe and secure indoor home, with a family or people who have the capacity to understand that Azalea is shy, she will take time to warm up and feel safe to trust you.
She is interested and curious, but remains uncertain so far.
She will be a big fan of places to hid or places to climb.
What is Known About My Background: She was surrendered to a local pound with her siblings. She is the shyest of her litter. We are not certain why she is more shy or fearful or her world.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: It’s a slow burn. We are giving Azalea the space and times she needs to go at her pace. I believe with patience and routine she will become a lovely kitten.
