All About Me and My Unique Personality: Nina is a petite, social cat who clearly prefers to be near her people. She arrived to us very afraid of being touched, but currently enjoys just a few pats a day from each of her 3 foster carers. We are currently working very hard, and making progress in showing Nina that she can trust human touch.
She has mostly passed her playful kitten stage, although she will catch and kill a shoelace or other cat toy on a stick and rarely turns down a well timed play session. Nina likes to climb and explore her environment but overall she is a couch cat, and not too chaotic (in cat terms) as far as knocking things over or getting into trouble. She is a quiet cat with a polite meow, which she uses mainly in excitement at seeing dinner coming and occasionally for greeting.
My Ideal Home: Nina enjoys a relaxed/relaxing home. She could suit a single, couple or multi-person household. She enjoys looking through windows and screen doors, but spends most of her time near someone special, on a couch or bed if possible.
What is Known About My Background: Nina was rescued from a pound where she had been next to be euthanised. Her prior history is unknown.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: Nina currently lives with two adults and an older primary school kid, each of whom she enjoys and spends time with. She will need to be with a person or family that can respect the time she will take to warm, and when she politely says no to a pat - so she would struggle with younger children.
Nina has not met any dogs or cats while she has been with us. We don't think Nina would tolerate a dog, but we think she would potentially be cat friendly. If you have a resident cat and feel you may have a home to offer Nina, please be in touch. We may be able to take on a second foster cat to see if Nina reacts positively.
