All About Me and My Unique Personality: Meet Lionel, a distinguished older gentleman who is seeking a calm and affectionate household to relax into his golden years. He is incredibly affectionate, and always wants to get pats from you, approaching you any time you call his name or are in his line of sight, and climbing into your lap if he can. Lionel is a shy puss, and although he seeks affection from humans almost immediately, new places and noises take some getting used to. All he wants is someone to trust and feel safe with, so he can live out his senior years in bliss.
My Ideal Home: As Lionel is shy, he needs a quieter home that's not too busy and someone who will give him time to get comfortable. Although he can co-exist with other animals, he'd be better as a solo pet, as this will help him to feel at ease more quickly. Lionel would love to have some safe spots to hide if visitors come over and when he first arrives, where he can see what's going on, but feel secure. As with all Hunter Animal Rescue cats, he needs to be rehomed as indoor only.
What is Known About My Background: Lionel was surrendered to a vet as he wasn't coping in his home with a boisterous young child. It's sad that he's found himself without a home to call his own now he's older and all he wants is to feel safe and secure again. He is thriving in foster carer, and is a beautifully gentle boy, so will make a great companion. All his vet work is completed and he's up-to-date with parasite treatment and vaccinations.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: After finding himself without a home as he couldn't cope with young children, he needs a home without children. Though he copes okay with other cats in the house, he will more quickly settle as a solo cat. For this reason, it's best if he's the solo pet in a home.
