All About Me and My Unique Personality: ** Applications now closed **
Henry is the most adorable scruffy boy you will meet. He is all cuddles and smiles and funny big teeth! He loves chasing toys and has a friendly sunny personality and is not aggressive. He has that unique scruffy terrier hair with a stylish bleached looking quiff on his forehead!
He loves his food and is already a solid muscly boy so keeping an eye on his intake is needed. He inhales his meals so fast he needs a slow feeding bowl!
Henry is house trained and sleeps inside at night. He rarely barks even when Carer is out (according to the neighbours)
Henry is working on his lead training. At the moment he is so excited he wants to go a hundred miles an hour so he needs some control training.
Henry's only other issue is he is a little bit "mouthy". Although this is usually something that occurs in puppies, dogs who are adolescent like Henry should no longer be play biting. Please note however, that he is not aggressive, and you can effectively manage and stop a dog's mouthing behavior through training and consistent management, which involves redirecting the dog to appropriate chew toys, providing plenty of mental and physical exercise, and teaching alternative, positive behaviors. For this reason it would be best if his new home did not have young children.
My Ideal Home: Either a home where he is a solo dog or one with a larger dog than him. He has met some smaller dogs and he gets super excited to the point where he wants to play so much that he can annoy little dogs.
Somewhere he will be loved and given the extra training he needs to become the awesome dog that he is.
While he is not a big or tall dog himself, he is a solid ball of muscle and would not be suitable for young children. Henry can get excited and may bowl small kids over in his excitement. As well as this he still play bites. Older children (above 10) would be preferred for Applications.
What is Known About My Background: Found wandering the streets and impounded by Council. Was not microchipped or desexed and was never claimed so he ended up in Rescue.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: Not known how Henry interacts with cats or kids but could be OK with proper introductions.
Mostly OK with other dogs if they are nice to him.
