About Pepper – International Man of Mystery
All About Me and My Unique Personality: Pepper is a a bit of a mystery man with a very interesting story. He is a gorgeous old fellow and a first class smoocher. He is shy to settle into a new environment and will take some time to get to know and trust his new family, but once he does he will repay you tenfold with love.
My Ideal Home: I would be best suited to a quiet household where I can live out my days just chilling. I need a family who will be patient with me while I settle in, as I may go into hiding for the first few weeks. I would prefer to be an only cat as I can be a little territorial with other kitties.
What is Known About My Background: Pepper was a forest cat, described as a 'shadow of the night'. The family that found him discovered that each night he was sneaking onto their property and feasting on their cat's dinner. Once he saw them he would dash back off into the forest. The process of gaining Pepper's trust took about a year, and after 6 months of him getting to know the males of the family, with the help of a few special treats, he had found himself a new home. Unfortunately Pepper wasn't keen on the family's existing cat and they felt the best outcome was to surrender him to their local vet and try to find him a home of his own. HAR then took Pepper into care.
It is not known how long Pepper was out there on his own. We believe he may have escaped as a kitten, but has obviously known the love of humans during many years of his life, as he is a very affectionate boy.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: My foster Mum hasn't seen me with children or dogs. I am pretty laid back though so I should be okay with older children that will give me my space when I want it.
