About Kuru – On Trial until 10/5
All About Me and My Unique Personality: Hi there! I’m Kuru, and I’m sleek and silky black except for a tiny tuft of white over my heart. I’m a confident and happy girl, and I love pats and chin scratches and playtime. I approach friendly humans for nuzzles and attention. I’m very gentle and sweet.
I’m in foster care with young cat Sayuri (we might be sisters!). While we’re not bonded, we get along great and sometimes play with each other. Sayuri is also up for adoption so if you’re looking for two friendly kitties, we’re your girls!
I don’t mind being picked up, but I think I prefer play time and pats and other forms of affection. Like sometimes when my foster mum is reading the news in bed on a cold morning, I climb up for a pat and settle down beside her. Then she gently pulls the corner of the blanket over me. I love that. I happily purr and fall asleep. I also like to sleep at the foot of the bed.
I’m curious and am likely to follow you around the house. I also talk a little - If I find something interesting in another room, I might meow a few times to call you.
I’m young and athletic. Play time and climbing are my favourite. Sometimes I confidently wander around a lot and take my time to deciding where to nap.
I’m booked in for desexing and vaccination in late April, and will be available for adoption once I have recovered.
Vacuum cleaner? not a huge fan, but I don’t freak out about them.
Being handled? Once I know you, I don’t mind being picked up and will probably purr. But I’m not super into cuddling for long periods.
Litter tray? I’m a gold class master litter tray user. No accidents.
Food? I love food, and can eat more than you would expect. I will eat other cat’s food if they don’t defend it.
Scratching? Only the scratch posts. I love them.
My Ideal Home: For my health and safety and that of local wildlife, I must be homed securely 100% indoors.
I think my ideal home would be one where I can get lots of pats and play time, and maybe a warm blanket to snuggle in when it’s cold.
What is Known About My Background: I was handed into the pound with my (maybe) sister Sayuri. Not much is known about our life before then, but we were in great condition and already human-friendly.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets: While in care I haven’t been near kids or dogs, so I’m not sure how I will go. My foster mum thinks I would be fine with an older child who knows to give me space or put me down if I am trying to retreat.
I’ve been in care with my maybe-sister Sayuri and we get along pretty well. Sometimes we argue over who gets our favourite chair in the evening, but otherwise we play and sometimes groom each other.
