- You have a safe, secure, fully-fenced yard.
- You must attend a foster care induction before your foster animal arrives.
- Provide food when donations are not available.
- You have access to the internet and a digital camera.
- Attend the next planned leader of the pack training session.
- Became & remain a financial HAR member whilst you are a carer or volunteer (form on home page).
- Agree to have your home & yard inspected before receiving your first foster animals and spot checks can occur.
- Transport your foster to vet appointments (HAR will pay for all vet work that is authorised by committee).
- Transport your foster on occasions to meet new owners.
- Prepared to read and abide by the HAR Policy & Procedures.
- Provide a loving temporary home until a forever home is found.
- Keep in regular contact with HAR and attend at least 2 meetings per year.
- Be able to screen applicants and select the most suitable new home, not just the first home.
- Send through good quality photos and description to your area co-ordinator for the website.
- Be able to politely turn unsuccessful applicants away and let them know they were unsuccessful.
- Complete adoption paperwork correctly and return promptly.
- Promptly deposit monies collected or encourage electronic transfer to the HAR account

- Your family supports your decision to become a foster carer.
- Own your own home or a gain landlords permission.
- Foster for one rescue group only unless you have gained approval from committee.
- Be able to select the most appropriate new owner.
- Complete yard inspection for all new owners or arrange for this to happen if they out of area.
- Maintain a clean, safe home/yard & allow potential new owners to visit your home.
- When you take a break longer than 1 month you will return all HAR equipment & stationary.
- Answer the public's questions or direct them to someone who can.
- All foster animals must wear collar & ID Tags 24/7.
- Cats & kittens must be fostered & rehomed to 100% indoor only homes.
- You understand that foster animals may be unwell and have special needs. (Parvo can contaminate your yard for seven years & can effect unvaccinated dogs.)
- Foster animals will be with you for a minimum of two weeks and until their forever home is found.
- If you own pets they must be vaccinated & desexed (excluding registered breeder).
