Hunter Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers who dedicate their time to finding new homes for abandoned pets facing euthanasia. All animals are kept in foster carer homes, where they experience a good quality of life, and the carers get a good idea of a cat's personality and suitability for different homes.
All HAR cats and kittens are kept as strictly indoor / in enclosure pets to keep them safe from snakes, cars, dogs, fighting, hunting, straying and the harsh sun. All of our foster animals are very happy this way and we expect the same to occur in their new homes. |

Heidi and Wylee

HAR
number: C09241 and C09243
Names: Heidi and Wylee
Breed: DSH
Colour: Ginger and White
Age: 8 months
Heidi and Wylee are brother and sister and have been together all their life. We have tried to separate them with not very good results - they must be rehomed together.
They are very playful and loving, and love tochase each other around the house and play big time wrestling. They also love to cuddle up to their staff (ie carers) at night before retiring to bed.
Ideally a quiet home with no children would suit them as they are a little timid at first and will take a few days to settle in.
Contact Foster Carer - Patricia on

Frankie
male

Frankie is such a perfect cat. He is so easy to look after and loves to be with you. He loves to sit on the back of your shoulders while you walk around the house - kinda like a bird! LOL. He lets you know when he wants a cuddle and is totally fine with other cats, male or female. He is litter trained and doesn't scratch furniture and would love a new home soon. He understands that white and ginger cats are not the most popular colour but is hoping someone out there doesn't mind a bit of ginger! The only down side to Frankie is that he has a sensitive tummy and needs hypoallergenic biscuits instead of the normal ones but this shouldn't be too much problem. If you think you could give Frankie a loving forever home and let him be the bird he always wanted to be (ha! ha!) please give his foster mummy Denise a call.

female
Missy is a friendly, playful cat. When she came into my care, with her 3 kittens (who have now found their forever homes),
she was very frightened. Now she loves to play and loves to have lots of pats. She would be suited to a family with no young children.

Amalie
female - 7 months old

I am a very special cat. I am so playful and energetic, I
love playing with all of my toys. I have very unique ears, and piercing
eyes. I am okay with the young children at my foster home, so long as
they are gentle and treat me with care. My favourite spot to sleep is in
a dolls cot! I am great company and enjoy evening snoozes on the couch.
Even though I am small in size, I'm still suitable for a home with
small children if supervised. I am very affectionate like all cats
and love to play chasing games.
Amalie is being cared for in Muswellbrook.

Gizmo
male
Animal Number: C10013
Name: Gizmo
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 8 months (born 12/12/09)
Sex: Male
Suitable for children: Yes, is fine with my 4 year old.
Suitable with dogs: Hasn’t met any dogs yet.
Ideal home: A family home with other cats for company, where he will be loved and cared for.
A
bit about me: I am an affectionate, playful boy and I can be a bit
cheeky sometimes. I love my food and I will snatch up anything that’s on
offer, and it’s starting to show with my chubby belly.
I
love playing with my brother and sister (Charlie and Moo Moo) and I
like stealing wrappers out of the bin and running away with them. I give
lots of cuddles and I love snuggling up to mum on the lounge.
I like staying indoors, as I’ve never been outside and I’m a lot safer inside.
I would love it if someone could adopt me with my brother and/or sister if possible as we are good mates.
Foster carer contact details: To meet Gizmo, or for any questions, contact Lauren on 49 366 530 or 0432 250 405. Or send her an email

Ideal home: A family home with

A bit about me: I am a sweet, quiet
boy. I have a grey fluffy head which is really cute and I'm quite small
for my age, but I am getting bigger. I enjoy my food but I'm not greedy
and I will happily share with the others.
I am fairly quiet, although I do
get a bit possessive of my favourite red ball that I play with and I
growl at the others when they try to get it. My favourite spot to sleep
is in the washing basket or behind the lounge.
I like staying indoors, as I've
never been outside and I'm a lot safer inside.
I would love it if someone could
