Hunter Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers who dedicate their time to finding new homes for abandoned pets facing euthanasia. All animals are kept in foster carer homes, where they experience a good quality of life, and the carers get a good idea of a cat's personality and suitability for different homes.

All HAR cats and kittens are kept as strictly indoor / in enclosure pets to keep them safe from snakes, cars, dogs, fighting, hunting, straying and the harsh sun. All of our foster animals are very happy this way and we expect the same to occur in their new homes.

 Cassy

Name: Cassy
Age: Approx 12 months old
Sex: Female

Milly & Cassy are sisters. They are very playful even though they've had a bad start to life. They were under weight, frightened of humans & other animals. But now they are very happy & playful cats. They love nothing more than to play together & snuggle up on your lap when they are ready for bed. They can be a bit shy at first but that doesn't last long. Would love to rehome them together as they have a strong bond but will be fine if not. All they want is a good home where they would be loved & kept indoors. No young children.

If you'd like to come and play and meet them, please phone their foster carer Denise on 0403595215, you won't be disappointed.

Applicants will be required to complete and submit the following application form:

$100 adoption fee applies and must be paid prior to trial period.

Animal Number: c11220
Name:
Ebony
Breed: DSH
Sex: Female

A bit about me: Mother cat, loves a cuddle and is an excellent mum. She will suit anyone without young kids and also someone who is working. Quite happy to stay at home during the day and play and greet you at night.
Beautifully natured, fine boned black cat with a smattering of white hairs. Only the tips of the fur is black and it is a grey underneath.

 Hooty

Animal Number: c11255
Name:
Hooty
Breed: DSH
Sex: Male
Size:
Adult

A bit about me: Hooty is a beautiful one year old grey and white short hair domestic saint.

This boy would fit into any family situation. He gets along with dogs, cats and humans equally well.

He would be good with children if they are gentle with him. He is not one to be picked up but will happily lay beside you on the lounge or bed.

He has taken to being "Mum' to a litter of kittens who came into care a week after him.

He must be kept inside as this boy is way too trusting to be allowed out. He would end up trusting the wrong dog or person. He thinks everyone is kind!

Animal Number: TBA
Name:
Max
Breed: DMH
Sex: Male
Size:
Adult

A bit about me: Max is a big cat who is 4 yrs old. He is very friendly, interactive and playful.
Max sleeps on the end of the bed, needs daily brushing and loves chicken necks for breakfast.
We have also discovered Max is deathly afraid of water sprayers.
He also has very fluffy feet, which means he has enormous fun sliding around the kitchen but probably wouldn't be suited to a home with polished floorboards.

 Ralphie

Animal Number: c11026
Name:
Ralphie
Breed: DSH
Sex: Male
Size:
Large adult

Suitable for children: Yes. Although there are no children at Ralphie’s foster home, when a friend’s two year old arrives, Ralphie is more than happy to be held, chased & have his tail pulled.

A bit about me: Well, Ralphie is one special guy. He is differently a cool customer & the only time he breaks a sweat is when it’s dinner time. Ralphie loves a scratch and is lovely & affectionate. He would love to sleep on your bed in the evenings but understands ‘no’ if this is not allowed. Currently in care with his foster sister Alexandra, Ralphie is not at all aggressive. Ralphie will make a perfect addition to any household as he is one special cat.

Animal Number: c11243
Name:
Rosie
Breed: DMH
Sex: Female
Size:
Adult

A Bit About Me: Hi my name is Rosie I'm 14 months old and a very playful cat who likes playing with toys and other cats once I get used to them, I like my pats but not so much of a cuddly cat I also like to sleep up high so I can see everything around me, I like to eat and drink a lot especially after having a game of wrestling or Chasys with my foster brother :) .

I would suit a loving and caring family who has another playful adult cat which i could socialize with during the day or a family that is home most of the day so they can give me lots of attention.

I haven't been temp tested with dogs as my foster mum doesn't have any so I'm not sure if i like them or not.

Dislikes: I don't like small cats eg: kittens or small children under 3yrs as they like to sit on me or pull my tail :(
